Busy Bobbins is a mother-and-daughter team with a passion for sewing.

Based in Nottingham, Dot and Stella have more than 60 years’ sewing experience between them.

After running successful workshops and classes for many years, they established Busy Bobbins in 2016.

Busy Bobbins offers relaxed and friendly stitching workshops and courses for all ages and abilities. All events take place at dedicated premises in Nottingham, with sewing machines, materials and refreshments provided.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You’ll need a basic sewing kit, consisting of:

  • Pins
  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • 6″ ruler
  • Marking pen

Unless otherwise specified, all other materials and equipment will be supplied, including sewing machines, patterns, fabric and thread.

How do I pay for a session?

Please pay on the day. We’re happy to accept cash, or you can pay by credit or debit card in person.

How big are the classes?

Each session has a maximum size of 10 people, so everyone gets the right level of attention.

Will there be refreshments?

We provide free tea and coffee throughout each session, and there’s often some cake involved.

Can I park?

There is free car parking on site.

Are the sessions accessible by disabled people?

Classes and workshops take place on the first floor, up about 15 stairs. Unfortunately, there’s no lift access. If you have any special requirements, let us know when booking and we’ll do our best to help.

Is there an age limit?

You have to be 18 or over to attend our events.

Which sewing machines do you use?

All sessions use Brother Innov-is F420 sewing machines.
